BIRT employs a skilled and dedicated team of staff with specialist expertise in brain injury.

Our multi-professional teams include psychologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.

Our staff work for us because they have a particular interest in brain injury and a desire to work in this field.

We give staff training a high priority, starting with a TOPSS-based specialist brain injury induction and foundation course.

We then offer a three-stage clinical training programme designed to help staff develop all the skills needed to work successfully with people with brain injury.

Vocational trainers also play a vital role – helping people find the education, training or work placements they need, and offering support.

Our team of enablers (rehabilitation support workers) are also trained in the neurobehavioral approach.

Everyone using BIRT’s services therefore has quick and regular access to all the support they need.
